Kenya's Malkia Strikers proved powerful yet again after beating Burkina Faso in straight sets in the Africa Nations Cup duel at the Polyvalent des Sports arena in Yaounde, Cameroon on Thursday.

The win of 25-10, 25-09, 25-10 came after they won their first victory over Rwanda on Wednesday.

The Paul Bitok-coached side had an opportunity where every player was accorded a chance to play in the game.

The delighted tactician expressed satisfaction with the results saying "Especially today it was a good match to test the team players, and how ready they are for the competition".

"This is complex, as it is two groups with five matches in a row, we need to rest most of the players so that we don't get fatigued before the finals," he added.

Malkia, however, had to play without star attacker Sharon Chumba who was relegated to the bench for a knee injury.

She will join the team in their next match against Morocco on Friday.

"We are going to give Chumba a try to see how fit she is to play forward, for a maximum of just two sets," Bitok said.

The Kenyan team will face pool mates Uganda in the match and despite the tough competition, the players are determined to put their best foot forward.

"We can't conclude now that it's an easy pool. Uganda has a good team but we are still determined to win all our matches," said middle blocker Edith Wisa.

She thanked and congratulated her teammates adding that it was a good build-up match and great lessons learnt.

"It was a good build-up match for us as we could tell where we are going and where to rectify our mistakes," Wisa said.
