In Eastleigh, Nairobi, a woman died after a wall pot fell from the sixth floor of a building and struck her on the head.
The victim, identified as Josephine Anyango, was walking along Muratina Road outside Filsan Towers when the pot fell on her head.
She was rushed to Al-Amin Hospital in the area on Tuesday evening where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Doctors at the facility said she had been hit and seriously wounded on the head.
Police later visited the building and the house where the pot originated as part of the probe into the tragedy.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
Such accidents are sometimes reported at highrise buidings with falling objects killing or injuring passersby.
Meanwhile, a welder was found murdered in Huruma area, Nairobi.
The body of Felix Okoth Omamo, 27, was found in a pool of blood in the area after a murder incident.
Police who visited the scene said he had stab wounds in the chest and head after the Tuesday morning attack.
Locals said they heard commotion outside before silence followed. It was then they found Omamo in a pool of blood and there was nothing that was stolen from him.
Police said they are investigating the motive of the attack and that no arrest had been made so far.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and probe.
A hunt on the suspected killers is ongoing, Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said.
