A picture of a journalist being arrested by police during the Maandamano protests (shown above) is an old picture.
John Allan Namu has sought to correct the perception being peddled online that the man in a pink shirt above was arrested Wednesday, July 19.
Name took to his Twitter account to correct that perception saying they are Africa Uncensored Journalists and that picture was taken back in March along Juja Road.
"On a serious note, you need to retract this. Clint is currently in the field and this may put him in danger. Again, this was taken when Clint and Calvin were apprehended DURING THE LAST ROUND OF MAANDAMANO. It wasn't taken today or yesterday," Namu told several Twitter users.
Calvin also updated Kenyans on the same matter on his Twitter account;
"@justlonestar....This was March when my colleague and I were arrested covering protests on Juja Road. That's the moment when we were being released."
The same journalists though were arrested again on Wednesday, July 19 in Mathare by DCI while covering the dramatic arrest of a protestor who was angry at the teargassing of his child. Calvin was taken to Kayole Police Station.
