• Here are some of the things that have happened between Tuesday afternoon leading up to the morning of Maandamano Wednesdays.

With the opposition leader Raila Odinga, announcing a three day strike from Wednesday till Friday in the interests of lowering the cost of living.

The week has been full of tension with stories circulating about people being paid off to create chaos and make things unbearable.

The government also in light to the information they have been receiving from their sources in a bid to also protect the wellbeing of the citizens have  also acted in their own ways.

 Kithure Kindiki, who is the cabinet secretary  for the interior and national administration together with the Ezekiel Machogu who is the cabinet secretary for education ordered the closure of schools.

In a statement released they said it is for safety of all day primary and boarding schools within Nairobi and Mombasa due to the information they received.

It has also come to the people's attention that the government has withdrawn all security detail from the former first lady's home, Mama Ngina Kenyatta.

Other institutions such as the Kenya Railways have also suspended their commuter train operations between the stations of Nairobi terminus to Ngong terminus.

This is in lieu of the vandalization  of railway and train property and also for the safety of their customers who use the services.

Some arrests have also been made by the police and also the DCI , Embakasi East MP , Babu Owino was detained at JKIA  after arriving from Mombasa.

Activist, Calvin Okoth aka Gaucho was also arrested at his home after his video of him slaughtering a goat and drinking it's blood went viral.

Trader's union also sent out a notice to the commanding police station in Muthaiga to present security to them as they march to Mama Ngina Kenyatta's home.

Their march was to tell her to talk to Uhuru Kenyatta, to stop the funding of the Maandamano as it was affecting their businesses.
