Standard Journalist hurt during Azimio demos.

The ongoing Azimio anti-government protest in Kisumu is said to have involved the alleged beating by police of Standard Group photojournalist Colins Oduor.

On Wednesday, Oduor was hurt while traveling along the Kisumu-Kakamega Highway (at the blood donation facility).

The scribe was hurt on the waist and back.

It is said that when dispersing demonstrators, some police officers allegedly struck Oduor despite his wearing a clearly visible press jacket from the Media Council.

The scribe was taken to the County Referral Hospital where he is being attended to.

Speaking at the hospital, Oduor claimed that the officers started beating him up when he tried to gain access to premises after people ran for safety.

"They were beating up everybody I don't know what was happening, they beat me up severally, and even after gaining access to the place, they came in and beat me up again," he said.
