According to Kenya Power, Nimrod Mbai, the Kitui East MP, is being sought by security personnel after allegedly assaulting a member of the company.

"We assure employees that the Company will provide them with the necessary support and security when needed to thank employees for the great work that they are doing they are," Kalungu said.

She commended the KPLC employees for their work, urging them to keep up so they can achieve their corporate objectives.

This comes after a viral clip showed a KPLC officer being allegedly assaulted by Mbai.

Mbai claimed that the officer identified had removed electric poles leading to his house at Kitengela, Kajiado County

The officer, who had been accompanied to the MP's house by KPLC security and two regular police officers, did not retaliate.

Defending himself, Mbai said he had been invaded by the KPLC staff at his house.

"I was fighting back the people who invaded me. I had to fight back. The viral video you are talking about has been edited to only show me fighting back," he said.

The KPLC officer however said that the connection to the home was illegally installed.
