Rhoda Maweu, the wife of alleged cult leader Paul Mackenzi, has been given a Sh100,000 personal bond and an additional Sh500,000 as surety by the Shanzu Magistrate Court.
Since her arrest on May 2, she had spent 62 days in detention.
According to Shanzu Senior Principal Magistrate Yusuf Shikanda, the State was unable to show why she, her husband, and 28 other people were being kept in custody in connection with the Shakahola deaths.
When called upon, she will be expected to appear at any police station.
Mackenzi and 16 additional co-accused individuals, who were arraigned between April 15 and May 2, will nonetheless remain in custody for an additional 30 days.
