New Life Center for Prayer Pastor Ezekiel Odero expressed his gratitude to the government for enabling him to stage large-scale rallies all throughout the nation.

The televangelist said that the rallies are not for the advantage of New Life as a church but rather for the good of everyone in remarks made on Saturday during a large demonstration at the Jacaranda grounds in Nairobi.

According to him, the two-day event has gathered believers from around the nation and abroad, including those from Tanzania, Uganda, and the US, some of whom arrived as early as Wednesday.

He further disclosed that it costs millions to hold the mega rallies.

“We were in Kisii and we thank the government for allowing us to hold rallies to spread the gospel; God bless Kenya and the government,” he said.

He said the main reason for holding the mega rallies is deliverance and healing.

“Holding a mega rally is millions of shillings and when I say millions of shillings, ikiwa mtu mmoja atatafutwa aokoke tukitumia million kumi hiyo pesa ni bora itumike kuokoa mtu mmoja kwa sababu mtu mmoja anaweza kutumumika kuangamiza watu wengi na ukitumia milioni kumi kuokoa mtu mmoja umeokoa mabilioni ya watu,” he said.

This is loosely translated to mean ‘if it will take Sh10 million to look for one person to get saved then it better to use it because one person can destroy so many people, so that will help save billions of people”.

As he broadens his evangelistic reach, Odero's New Life Prayer Centre and Church established a new location last week in Mosocho, Kisii county.

The church is being relocated from Suneka, Bonchari constituency, where it had previously been, to Mosocho.

In order to serve Nairobi locals, Odero announced on Saturday that his New Life Church would be expanding to Kitengela, Kajiado county.

Odero claimed that they have purchased a 51-acre plot of land on which to erect the church, which is scheduled to open in August.
