Two employees of missing former National Treasury employee Tom Fred Osinde are being detained by police.

The family reported that Osinde vanished on June 18 while en route from his home in Nakuru to Borabu, Kisii.

The suspects being held, according to DCI Donnata Atieno of Rongai, are employees of Osinde at his Ngata residence in Nakuru.

The kidnapping is being looked at in relation to them. One of the employees being held is an Osinde driver.

In his hamlet in Nyamira and on the way to Kiligoris, where it was discovered abandoned and vandalized, he was observed driving Osinde's car.

A day after Osinde went missing, it is said that he took the four-wheel drive vehicle to a car wash in his hamlet.

“He told us to wash the car from outside only because it was not dirty inside,” one of the car wash attendants said.

It was unexpected and disturbing to the locals and neighbors that the suspect had spent the night in his hamlet with Osinde's automobile.

After that, according to police investigations, he drove it to Kilgoris and left it there.

According to the suspect, On June 18, he carried out Osinde's request to give money to a woman at a gas station in Kericho Town and spoke with him while doing so. Police claimed to have proof that the allegations were false.

Atieno stated that one of the goals the investigation team is pursuing is kidnapping. She stated that they remain optimistic about locating Osinde.

She explained that they are detaining the suspects while they look into the kidnapping and that a court has given them permission to do so for 21 days.

“The suspects are being held as we probe allegations of abduction. We have been at the farm for close to three hours and no clues of him there so far,” he said.

She stated that in case he was slain and discarded or buried there, the detectives are also looking to see if there are any recently dug locations nearby. Also investigated were septic tanks.

The team visited around seven of the farm's ten acres, and they are scheduled to return on Thursday.

We don't yet know why he was taken away, if at all. Additionally, police are unable to confirm his survival.

His cell phone has not yet been located. Police are examining the two employees' and other family members' cell phones.

His four-wheel drive was discovered abandoned, so a backup team was dispatched to the area to aid in the search.

Five cell phones have been taken from some of the family members, particularly the Nakuru workers, after the police spoke with them.

After he left home in the car on June 18, according to the family, they last spoke to him.

His black V8 was discovered abandoned and vandalized, according to the police, in the Sikawa, Kilgoris, and Narok County areas. His houses in Nakuru and Kisii were far away from here.

The car's number plates, batteries, and radio were all missing.

Osinde is the brother of Ken Osinde, who served as the deputy president's chief of staff when working for President Ruto.

Between 2010 and 2014, Ken also represented Kenya as ambassador to Germany.

The car was discovered abandoned on the side of the road on June 22, or nearly five days after he went missing, according to Jamlek Ngaruiya, the chief of the Transmara West subcounty police.

He claimed that local residents alerted the authorities to the abandoned automobile on the side of the road.

“His family has identified the car and confirmed it belongs to the missing Fredrick Tom Osinde who stays in Ngata, Nakuru,” he said.

He stated that authorities received a complaint of a missing person.

Osinde, who is missing, attended the University of Nairobi and majored in economics.

He spent several years working for the Treasury Department after receiving his degree.

He was well-known for his proficiency in financial management and left Treasury in 2010 to launch his own company.
