Murkomen to Malala: Don't carry a bag to cabinet meetings, we're digital

The Cabinet on Tuesday approved the attendance of UDA secretary general Cleophas Malala, chairperson of Council of Economic Advisors David Ndii and National Security advisor Monica Juma in its meetings.

Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen on Tuesday sent a message to UDA secretary general Cleophas Malala after he attended his first cabinet meeting.

Murkomen in a tweet shared a picture of himself with Malala and Energy CS Davis Chirchir.

In the picture, Malala is seen carrying a bag.

Murkomen whose tweet was on a light note goes on to say that president William Ruto's cabinet is digital and the former Kakamega senator should not carry a bag next time they are meeting.

"SG Cleophas Malala next time don’t carry a big bag, this is a digital cabinet," he said.

On Tuesday, Malala was among four individuals cleared by Ruto to be attending Cabinet meetings.

The others were chairperson of the Council of Economic Advisors David Ndii and National Security advisor Monica Juma in its meetings. 

In a dispatch, the Cabinet also approved the attendance of advisor on Women Rights Harriette Chiggai of the weekly Tuesday Cabinet meetings.

"This is in line with getting women issues at the center of President William Ruto's administration," the Cabinet said in a dispatch.

The four took their oaths of secrecy on Tuesday during a Cabinet meeting chaired by President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi.
