Police have detained a couple and their son after they allegedly beat one of the siblings to death in Nyamira County over a lost Sh50.

According to the police, the event took place in the village of Iganeitambe, where the 17-year-old lad passed away following a beating.

The elder brother of the deceased alleged that his younger sibling was the suspect in the disappearance of his Sh50.

According to authorities, this caused the brother and the deceased to fight before their parents joined in the assault.

The deceased attended a nearby secondary school and was a Form Four student.

The youngster was beaten, and when he lost consciousness, his parents and older brother had to take him to the hospital right away, where he passed away, according to the authorities.

The youngster had injuries to his knee, forehead, and waist when the police arrived at the hospital after being summoned.

Prior to a potential arraignment, the deceased's parents and older brother were held.

Police filed a motion with the court asking to hold them for one week until an autopsy is performed on the deceased as part of the investigation into the event.

According to police, they are investigating a homicide with the deceased laying at a nearby mortuary.

In the meantime, an 11-year-old child was killed in Eldama Ravine, Baringo, when a tree trunk fell on him as he was passing a large tree.

The tree suddenly toppled and trapped the child as he passed by the scene.

When police were contacted, they assisted in moving the body to the mortuary.
