Ruto reshuffles Principal Secretaries in six ministries

• Esther Ngero has also been moved from the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary to the State Department of Correctional Services under the Ministry of Interior.

President William Ruto has re-assigned seven Principal Secretaries from the Ministries of Health, Sports, Environment, Agriculture, Water and Interior.

The President said the re-assignments are aimed at introducing functional changes that will ensure relevant state departments are well-suited to implement various state programmes.

Also affected is Esther Ngero who has been moved from her role of performance and management at the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary to the State Department of Correctional Services under the Ministry of Interior.

Head of Public Service Felix said in a dispatch that in her place, the President has nominated Faith Njeri Harrison for appointment "to facilitate transition in the vacancy that has arisen within the ranks of principal secretaries."

He said PS, Medical Services Peter Tum of the Ministry of Health has been re-assigned to the Ministry of Sports.

Jonathan Mueke, whose spot has gone to Tum, will now work as the PS Livestock under the Ministry of Agriculture.

Gitonga Mugambi has been moved to the Ministry of Environment under the State Department for Forestry, following the reassignment of PS Ephantus Kimani.

Kimani has been moved to the Ministry of Water as the Irrigation PS replacing Mugambi.

Livestock PS Harry Kimutai has been taken to the state department for medical services while his correctional services counterpart Mary Muthoni will serve under the MoH as the PS, Public Health and Professional Standards.

She will take over former PS Josephine Mburu who was sacked on Monday over the Sh3.7 Kemsa mosquito net scandal.
