Ugandan Labour Minister shot dead by bodyguard

Uganda State Minister for Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations, Charles Okello Engola was on Monday shot dead by his bodyguard.

As reported by NTV Uganda, the minister was shot at this home in Kampala.

Okello's death was confirmed by the Speaker of Parliament,  Anita Among while presiding over the plenary session this morning.

“This morning, I received the sad news that Hon Engola has been shot by his bodyguard, who also shot himself after. May his soul rest in peace. That was God’s plan.  We can’t change anything,” she said.

The crime scene has been cordoned off by security personnel.
