Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a yam plantation in Kahawa West, Nairobi.

The body of George Kithinji, 35, was found lying dead in a yam plantation within Soweto informal settlement on April 25.

He had been stabbed and police said when they visited his house they found bloodstains on the mattress.

Two blood-stained kitchen knives were recovered in the house and kept as exhibits. This indicated the man was killed in the house before the body was dragged to the farm.

And when a mob realized the man may have been killed in the house and his body dragged to the farm, they attacked the wife with blows and stones before she was rescued by police.

Police said they are yet to establish the motive behind the incident. The woman was taken to hospital as the body of her husband was taken to the mortuary pending autopsy.

Cases of domestic fights that turned fatal have been on the rise. Most of them remain unsolved.

Meanwhile, police in Zimmerman are investigating an incident in which the body of a man was taken to a private clinic and dumped there.

Managers at the facility said the body was taken by three men who seemed intoxicated.

The body had no identification documents then. Those who brought the body to the facility ran away and did not explain what happened.

Police were called and picked up the body to the mortuary for identification and autopsy.

In Ruiru, the body of one Isaac Waweru Mwangi, 40, found lying dead with no visible injuries behind the Powerstar supermarket.

The body was moved to General Kago Funeral home awaiting postmortem.
