Worker dies on the spot after falling from 4th floor Gigiri house

A 40-year-old man died after he fell from the fourth floor of a house under construction in Nairobi’s Gigiri area.

Barrack Opiyo had been hired from Eldoret to do the ceiling on the building under construction when he slid and fell from the fourth floor of the house.

Police said he died on the spot on Saturday, April 22 after landing on his head. The body was later moved from the scene and taken to the mortuary pending probe.

The incident is under probe. Police said experts had been sent to the scene to investigate the incident.

Meanwhile, police are investigating an incident in which a tout died after a fight with a hawker over non-payment of Sh40 for egg and sausage.

Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said the deceased fell on the ground and injured his head dying on the spot.

The suspect who is a known food hawker in the area was arrested pending investigations. The body was moved to the mortuary pending further investigations.

And in Ngarariga area, Limuru, the body of 35-year-old Mary Nduta Waithera was found in a house she shared with a teacher in the area.

The teacher told police he went back to his house and found the woman unresponsive and called for help.

The deceased had been living with the said teacher as a girlfriend for the past two years. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigation.
