Entertainer Peter Kabi of The WaJesus Family has made it clear that they weren't paid any money by Esther Akoth aka Akothee for him and his wife Millicent Wambui to be in her line-up.
Akothee and her husband Denis Schweizer aka Omosh tied the knot on Monday, April 10, in a lavish wedding ceremony held at Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club, Nairobi.
Kabi and Milly were among the celebrities who were in the line-up for the musician's second wedding.
Speaking on Tuesday, Kabi said it was a great honour for him and his wife to be among those chosen for the wedding and made it clear that they did it out of charity as Akothee is their close friend.
"I'm still recovering from Akothee's beautiful wedding. It was a great honour to be in the squad and then I got a call from KRA because of @millywajesus' rate card," he said on Instagram.
"To make things clear, we were not paid for Akothee. She is our personal friend. If we start getting paid, we have to pay taxes."
Kabi was forced to come clean after his wife Milly posted a card showing the money they charge to be in a wedding lineup.
"As for me, I'm fun at weddings, I come with a party-loving husband, I dress well, I have my own glam team, a huge online presence and I'm a very good dancer," Milly wrote in the card.
According to the card, the prices for involving the couple in the wedding are between Sh 125,000 to Sh 3,000,000.
Kabi claimed that his wife decided to have a price to pay for the wedding after being in Akothee's line-up.
Akothee's second wedding which took place on Tuesday was graced by family members, close friends, famous artists and prominent politicians in the country. A total of at least 300 people were invited.
