The National Health Insurance Fund has advertised for the position of a new CEO to replace Samson Kuhora who is serving in an acting capacity.
Kuhora was appointed mid-last month to take over from Peter Kamunyo who is on terminal leave which expires on April 14.
Kamunyo has served in the position for the last three years having been picked in April 2020 during retired president Uhuru Kenyatta’s tenure.
In an advertisement in a local daily, NHIF said the office holder will serve on contract for a term of three years and may be eligible for reappointment for a final term subject to acceptable performance.
“The CEO shall be responsible to the boar for providing leadership in the operational, financial and management of the fund through the development and implementation of the strategic plan and effective management of resources to achieve the overall mandate,” reads the notice.
To be appointed to the position, one must have at least 10 years of experience at a senior management level with skills in health, insurance, health financing, financial management, health economics, healthcare, administration, and law of business administration.
They must also have a least a Master’s degree, certificate in corporate governance or leadership and must demonstrate a clear understanding of the NHIF Act.
Also to be recruited are six senior officers that include directors of corporate services, legal, internal audit, ICT, financial services and beneficiary and provider management.
