US vice president Kamala Harris has arrived in Tanzania to continue her week-long tour of Africa.
Harris who landed in Ghana on Sunday, accompanied by her husband, arrived in the East African nation on Wednesday night where she was received by vice president Philip Mpango.
In Ghana, she met President Nana Akufo-Ado and participated in a state banquet.
She also delivered a speech to youth about innovation and women's empowerment.
Harris is expected to hold talks with President Samia Suluhu.
She will depart on Friday to Zambia where she will meet President Hakainde Hichilema before leaving for the US.
The VP is seeking to deepen the US-Africa relationship by focusing on economic development, climate change, food security, and a rising youth population.
Her visit to Tanzania comes as relations with the US appear to have greatly improved under Samia's administration who has promised to let democracy thrive.
Late President John Magufuli vouched for China relations which supported its megaprojects while cracking down on critics.
