President Museveni has once again reiterated his stance against homosexuality. The Ugandan Head of State over the weekend addressed guests at a state function where he said that vice will not be tolerated in his country.

Museveni pointed fingers at the audience demonstrating his anger

"Africans here we know a few people who are rumored to be homosexuals even in history we had some few being rumored but you cannot stand up here and say I'm a homosexual."

He told foreign countries that Uganda will not be part of the LGBTQ agenda.

"So whenever we talk to our partners from other parts of the world please that's a private matter you leave it" gesturing with his hands

He continues, "No they want to impose it on you that I should stand up and say hoiyeee hoiyee homosexuals hoiyee."

"If someone has eaten pork, has he put it in your mouth? No..he has put it in his mouth, and we are rioting and disturbing the peace, that somebody has put pork in his mouth we shall teach you a lesson," he issued his warning.

The President was addressing over 750 investors and business elite from 139 cities, representing 22 countries and from 29 businesses and services sectors from the influential global Lohana Indian community, during the Lohana International Business Forum dubbed “Africa Calling”.

Uganda passed legislation on Friday March 24 that criminalizes homosexuality. According to Human Rights Watch, the 2023 Anti-Homosexuality Bill confirms an existing policy of life imprisonment for same-sex conduct. Also, a person will receive a 10-year prison sentence for an attempt at same-sex conduct.

In addition, the death penalty will be implemented if a person commits “aggravated homosexuality” as a “serial offender” or if someone has same-sex relations with a person with a disability, thereby automatically denying persons with disabilities the capacity to consent to sex.

Furthermore, the bill banishes the “promotion of homosexuality” through various forms of media.

Last week when the news of the bill went viral, US singer Lil Nas X tweeted he wanted to visit Africa for the gays.

He faced backlash with many seeing he appeared not informed of the anti-LGBTQ laws being implemented in Uganda.

On Wednesday (March 22), Lil Nas X took to Twitter and said: “Where do the gays be in Africa? I wanna come there.”

Many people believed that Lil Nas X was unaware of Uganda’s new anti-LGBTQ laws and responded to the artist by warning him of what’s currently taking place in the East African country.
