Kenyans are pleading for the release of a 17-year-old boy arrested after he stole a light aircraft from a ranch in Gilgil.
According to police reports, the boy sneaked into the farm and attempted to take off with it. Unfortunately, things did not work out and it crashed.
According to the Standard newspaper, below is the report filed by the ranch owner
"Peter White, the ranch owner where the Piper aircraft registration number 5Y-AZA was parked, reported the matter at Gilgil Police Station vide OB number 28/24/03/2023.
At around 9:30 am, a stranger male juvenile (name withheld) aged about 17 years, walked into the ranch and boarded into the cabin of the aircraft parked at the yard,β the report read.
Kenyans have reacted to his story with many saying this is a pilot in the making.

@Joeflyer21 That guy is an aviation enthusiast and instead of being punished, he should be handed a probation period of two years helping mechanics and cleaning theaircrafts. He will learn but I forgot hii ni Kenya π°πͺ π π π
It has even caught the attention of politician Oscar Sudi who is also pleading that the boy be released, offering to take him for a piloting course.
"Kindly beseech the authorities to pardon this young man from Gilgil. Don't arrest him. Please hand him over to me, I will take him to an aviation school."
