Police are investigating claims that a patient died after jumping from the tenth floor of his ward in Nairobi’s Pangani area.
Samuel Kuria, 37, had been admitted to Radiant Hospital when he died after jumping from the 10th floor and landed on the roof of the fourth floor dying minutes later.
Police said they were called to the scene after the Saturday evening incident and commenced investigations.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and further investigations.
Nairobi regional police commander Adamson Bungei said a team of detectives had visited the private hospital as part of the probe into the incident.
He said they are yet to establish the motive for the same.
Cases of suicide have been on the rise amid calls to address the trend.
Police say they receive up to four cases of suicide daily.
Elsewhere, one construction worker was killed and two others were injured after a perimeter wall they were constructing caved on them in Gigiri area, Nairobi.
Tobias Ocholo, 49, succumbed to his injuries after the wall trapped him, police said.
Two of his colleagues were rescued and rushed to the hospital in stable condition.
The group was at Hill View Estate and had been hired by a company to construct a perimeter wall on Friday evening when it collapsed on them.
Police said they are investigating the incident.
The site was closed pending the probe.
