At the same time, another bright student has been forced to repeat class eight due to a lack of school despite scoring 405 marks in the 2022 KCPE.
"The saddest thing I heard today, a kid who performed well in primary school being forced by the poor economic status of the parents to repeat class eight for lack of fees, 405 marks, and being called to a top class school," share a social media user by the name Derick.
In the same spirit, a user by the name of Juma also raised concern over the increasing number of students who have failed to join form one for lacking school fees. Some have been forced to redo class eight.
"So many bright kids did not report to form one because they are poor. They could not even afford school uniforms. Some with as high as 400 marks. So much tears, stress, and desperation. We should have a policy where schools admit these kids and then help them source for sponsors," the social media user shared.
Another student by the name Marth Gesare is yet to start her secondary education due to lack of school fees.
She scored 409 marks in the 2022 KCPE exams and she is supposed to join Asumbi girls for her tertiary education.
Sadly, she has been forced to repeat class eight also.
"We cannot sit back and wait for government funds while our children are still at home for lack of school fees, we must sacrifice the little we have for the community," a user Zamzam Mohammed said in the hopes that she will be able to assist the affected students.
The current state of the economy has affected so many of our young ones and they are pleading for well-wishers to be of any help.
