Azimio leader Raila Odinga has responded to President William Ruto saying that he is not interested in a handshake with him.
Speaking on Monday, Raila said the president made the remarks over the weekend.
On Sunday Ruto and his allies claimed that the Kamukunji rally was a plan by Raila to blackmail the government into striking a deal with him.
Ruto said he will not yield to his demands as the Opposition holds a rally over an IEBC rigging dossier.
“I will not allow a few people to treat Kenyans to rallies so that we stop serving the citizens and work for them. The end has come; there is no more. What you got from threats should be enough because we cannot be working for a few people year in and year out,” the President said.
He claimed the Opposition is looking for ways to blackmail his administration.
“You can never hold this country, hostage, again. I will not allow it. Go ahead with your demonstrations but I will not listen to one person at the expense of millions of Kenyans,” he said.
