An unconfirmed number of passengers were injured Wednesday morning in Kisii after a Modern Coast bus lost control and veered off the road and plunged into a river in Masosa area, a suburb in the Kisii County capital.

A pedestrian was, however, killed when it slid off the tarmac and hit him.

The injured are being attended to in various hospitals where they have been rushed for emergency treatment.

The Modern Coast bus was en route to Tanzania from Mombasa according to preliminary information.
