Dilemma as DPP vows to appeal Sonko's acquittal in Sh20mn graft case
Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji now says that he will appeal the decision by a magistrate to acquit former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko in a Sh20 million graft case.
- • Haji said the magistrate was involved in the pretrial engagement where he approved the charge sheet, which he has now ruled as defective.
- • He insisted that the court acquitted Sonko on the basis that the charge sheet was defective, and not on merits and substance of the case.
