Johnson Sakaja, the Nairobi Governor has claimed a lot of things were done in hospitals to make former President Uhuru Kenyatta happy. 

Speaking while appearing before the Senate Committee on Health, Sakaja alleged a lot of things were done for the cameras. 

"People were brought from around including pregnant women and after the President left, they were asked to go away," he said. 

He also said his administration is currently working on changes regarding Health in the county. 

"We are restructuring how the health facility is run, at Mbagathi hospital, the doctors and nurses are happy, we are taking back our facilities," he said.

The Committee has been probing the claims following the death of Maureen Anyango at the facility after giving birth to twins.

The 28-year-old woman delivered twins on September 6. Her husband, Robert Omondi, earlier told the committee that his wife started bleeding after delivering through a caesarian section.

The committee, led by Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago, is said to be considering all possible options, including recommending temporary closure of the facility.
