Indian police officers have accused rats of eating and destroying almost 200kg of bhang grabbed from criminals and set aside as evidence.

The case was presented in the court and the judge mentioned three cases in which marijuana was destroyed by rodents.

According to the statement in court:

“Rats are tiny animals and they have no fear of the police. It’s difficult to protect the drug from them.”

One of the Judge Sanjay Chaudhary said that they ordered the  police to produce the drug and only 195kg had been destroyed by the rats.

It was reported that there was a case involving 386Kg of the drug and the police filed that some cannabis had been eaten by the rats.

The judge said that  700kg of marijuana grasped by the police was lying in police stations and that “all of it was under danger of infestation by rats”.

He then claimed that the police had no experience in dealing with the matter as the rats were “too small”.

The only way to protect the seized goods from “such fearless mice”, he added, was to- auction the drugs to research labs and medicine firms, with the proceeds going to the government.

Read some of the reasons they had to say below;

Mutua . Panya zikakula bangi equal to gunia mbili za mahindi zikamaliza with no remnants... This drought is becoming a threat...oh wait... Wamesema panya yani rats....? Wah , hii ni mbaya kuliko Corona.

Mbugua_UGE One rat can eat an average of 20 grams per day so 10,000 rats can eat it all in a day or 100 rats in 100 days. All of the above are impossible
