The Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI) on Tuesday (15th November), arrested 4 gang members suspected to have been involved with the murder of an Information Technology graduate Keagan Githua, at Ridgeways Kiambu.

The head of DCI Mohammed Amin in a statement told of how the help of technology helped them nab the suspects after trailing the gang for two weeks.

"One was using the phone that they were trailing and another suspect is one who sold the phone," a detective privy to the investigations told the Star on phone.

The arrest mission started on October 30 after the news of Githua's murder went viral across the internet.

It is after this that police nabbed one of the gang members in a toilet at River road.

The other two were then arrested by the Starehe consolidated crucial leads in an organised raid launched at 4 am on Tuesday in Githurai.

It is reported that the two were on a motorcycle when they attacked Githua in Ridgeways Kiambu.

This arrest comes as a relief to the parents of the 24-year-old who held a vigil for their son together with the residents of  Garden Ridgeways Residents Association while asking for justice for their loss.

The Strathmore University graduate was stabbed in the chest by the goons on a motorbike before taking off with his phone and belongings.

He was then rushed to the hospital by a good Samaritan only for him to succumb on arrival.

This comes after the recent rise of stab crimes in Nairobi, something the DCI were quick to ask members of the public for hep with.

"We continue to appeal to members of the public to provide information regarding criminal gangs anonymously, through our #FichuakwaDCI toll-free line 0800 722 203," read the statement in part.
