Digital influencer and dancer Moya David has apologized to his fans who might have been conned by people impersonating him through Instagram and Facebook.

'Receive my apologies for those that have been conned," he stated in a post on his Instagram page.

The influential Tiktoker has garnered a huge social media presence and fans all around the internet by doing a surprise dance to the tune ' Mi Amor' by Tanzanian singer Marioo ft Jovial.

He is known for his 'spread happiness' aura that always comes out whenever he dances.

Below is an example surprise he did for his fan ''Ben';

Since his first viral video, Moya has since been out of the country severally when fans paid for his flights to go and surprise their loved ones.

He has surprised fellow celebrities such as female comedian Chemutai on stage and former news anchor Betty Kyallo .

Unfortunately, people have taken advantage of his shine and allegedly started conning people in his name, on Instagram;

"There is someone bearing the same name as me "David Kamau" who has been conning people. And so many other cons out there. Receive my apologies for those that have been conned," he stated.

Although his Instagram page is not verified, he went ahead and stated the official channels to contact him on his IG bio.

Having had a successful hobby turned into a business, the talented dancer went ahead and stated that the affected fans will be catered for:

"I also request clients to do a video call with me for confirmation that it's me before proceeding with payments. I also want to assure you that My team and I have already gathered enough evidence from the affected people and I have taken the right measures to deal with the issue."

This is not the first celebrity to be involved in such a misfortune and having such a platform definitely attracts attention from con artists and scammers exposed all over social media.

This act ruins the sweat and dedication put in by influencers and content creators.

But who is to blame? Is it the freedom from Instagram to own almost the same username or is it just a misfortune?

Hopefully, all Moya David's conned fans will be compensated.
