Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua spoke to Citizen TV's Nipashe and Sunday Live touching on the State of the Nation among other important things.

Speaking from his Mathira home, Nyeri county, the well-spoken politician highlighted the promises they made to Kenyans together with his boss William Ruto and how they are going to deliver on them.

He also addressed 'state capture' and all the challenges they have faced since taking over the affairs of Kenya as a republic.

"The promises are actionable but the time frame will change", DP Gachagua said.

Here are the Key things Gachagua said in the interview.

1. Gachagua mentioned that their promise on lowering the price of fertilizer for farmers is still on- working on importing cheaper fertilizer.

He urged Kenyans to be patient as they work on the same, hinting on plans to establish a fertilizer plant in Kenya.

2. He also lauded his boss William Ruto over his recent agreement with Safaricom and Banks on lowering Fuliza interest rate by 50%.

The move gave Kenyans relief as many had been blacklisted by CRB.

3. About young people/youth he promised to support them by first rewarding their talents to enable them to make ends meet and earn from the same.

To deliver on his promise, the DP said he will start by rewarding Ivy Chelimo the creator of his Riggy G nickname, and Mr K.K the social media Riggy G mimic.

5. On journalists he argued them to stop disseminating wrong information about him. He also clarified his idea on 'Samba system' saying he suggested farming in reserved forest areas that have no trees rather than the misquote that he planned on cutting down forests.

"I want to ask the media to give me a break, you come to my meetings and record me properly and do a bit of research." Gachagua bitterly said.

6. On the new cabinet, he applauded the choice of the secretaries saying that they have the experience to deal with the local Mwananchi.

The choice has been a big issue for Kenyans and Dp Gachagua wasted no time in verifying their credibility.

"Our cabinet nominees are people-centered," said Gachagua.

7. On matters of the Judiciary and independent bodies here in Kenya (DCI, EACC, CPURT, Kenya Police), he clarified that their government has no intention of interfering with him.

"We are looking for a professional DCI, not a drama queen," DP Rigathi said.

8. Asked about his frozen 12.5 billion shillings, Gachagua said that he is already contented with the DP salary he is getting and will not mind if he gets the money back or not.

9. On Uhuru, he said that they have sorted him out as a senior citizen and that they are still on good terms.

9. On the famous "State Capture", Rigathi said that they are prioritizing what is important at the moment which is: the CBC education system, Drought, and police reforms.

President Ruto and his DP Rigathi have wasted no time in doing their work and it is only a matter of time before Kenyans see the fruits of the new government.
