John Macharia passed away in a tragic car accident that only claimed his life on the night of Thursday the 26th of April. Since then condolences have rent the air even with his cousin Maina Kageni mourning his departure.
But it would seem that when we die, some ghosts of our past do not rest in peace with us. They simply linger on like a foul phantom. David Ndii has resurrected some of the late John Macharia’s.
Through his Twitter account, Ndii shared reports of court proceedings in which the flamboyant businessman was explicitly mentioned in a multi-billion shilling scandal.
In 2010, John Gichia Macharia was the subject of a multi-billion case in court where he was accused of conspiring to defraud Kenya Pipeline Company a total of 1.6 billion shillings.
The two purported to have settled debts owned by the corporation to the Export Development and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation.
Gichia was accused alongside his co-director at Triple A Capital, Janice Theresia Kiarie alias Terry Wijenje.
In the case, Justice Weldon Korir ruled that Triple A Capital, Mr. Macharia and Ms. Wijenje were subjected to an unnecessary trial and the court had to exercise its judicial authority and protect them. Why would you bring up a court case that the court ruled in favour of the accused? And why after his death? Anyway, David Ndii has his reasons, whatever they may be.
