Saturday morning Kenyans woke up to shocking news whereby 28 people were tortured before they were killed in Mandera. The bus was carrying 60 people among them teachers and health workers headed to Nairobi.

Nutritionist, Douglas Ondari who was among the survivors said,

"I can only return to Mandera when Jesus comes for a second time."

Ondari said the attackers paraded them in a straight line before ordering them to lie face down in the mud. With their faces in the mud, the killers could be heard discuss whether to kill or not.

Before the attackers started shooting, they stole from the victims, tortured them and even stripped naked some of them referring to them as crusaders.

Muslim leaders have since backed the government's operation against terror gangs and also condemned the killing of 28 people by armed gunmen. Christians and Muslims will not be divided.
