She is one of the most talented actresses around. She is a role model to many; and the lady who keeps us glued to the screen whenever she is busy doing what she loves most. She is none other than Joy Karambu, popularly known as Kawira in Citizen TV’s local production.
Kawira, a comedian cum MC who was born and brought up in a single parent family, has managed to create a niche for herself in the talent-flooded local showbiz industry thus becoming one of the most sought after personalities around. The rib cracker got married to the man of her dreams (he is a pastor, gospel artiste and motivational speaker) back in 2014 and since then, Kawira has transfromed a lot.
Well, in an interview with Citizen Digital, Kawira revealed much about herself; being a professional DJ, living faithfully as a born again Christian and more about her career. Kawira also opened up about her struggles of taking up the role of a submissive wife.
Here is what she said.
“It (early phase of marriage) was hard! I have not been raised by a man and with boys around. So, I was wondering why my husband was telling me what to do; why we should go to church together; why I couldn’t go to my mum’s place the way I wanted; why I couldn’t hook up with my friends the way I used to; basically why were things changing? At my parents’ house, I wasn’t cooking since I was the last born – so I was thrown into a world where I had to cook every day.”
Kawira further advised her fans on matters pertaining marriage saying that; Marriage is what you make it.
