This must be the most bizarre murder case, yet.
In a murder most foul scenario, a 29-year-old man in a Nanyuki town Tuesday chopped off his 59-year-old father’s head, put it in a bucket and then lit a cigarette as if nothing had happened.
Dennis Mwangi allegedly killed his father Peter Ndegwa at their Ngei estate home in cold blood and put his head in a paint bucket outside their house during the late afternoon incident.
Laikipia East police boss Kizito Mutoro said the headless body of Ndegwa was found lying in a pool of blood as the son sat pensively outside the house smoking a cigarette next to the bucket containing his father’s head laid.
He was promptly arrested by police officers. Mutoro said the incident was reported at around 5 pm and officers from the area Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) proceeded to the scene of the crime.
“We have arrested the suspect and are still carrying further investigations into the incident. I’d like to urge people to resolve their differences amicably instead of resulting to violence and murder,” the sub county police commander said in his office.
The suspect was detained at Nanyuki police station while Ndegwa’s body was taken to Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
Mutoro said the suspect would be arraigned in court soon.
