Shock and grief has engulfed Nyadhi village in Central Alego location, Siaya County after the decomposing body of a local businesswoman was found in her house.

And the villagers, led by the area member of the county assembly, Leonard Oriaro are now calling on the police to expedite investigations into the death of Mama Beatrice Omamo whose body was removed to Siaya county referral hospital mortuary for post-mortem.

According to the villagers, the neighbours became alarmed following a foul smell that was coming from the house and having not seen her for days, decided to find out what could have been amiss, only to find her decomposing remains.

Oriaro said they suspect that her houseboy was behind the murder, given that he has also disappeared mysteriously.

The MCA said that the businesswoman’s death comes just a week after her son in law visited to pay dowry for her daughter.

In his condolence message to the family, Oriaro described the late mama Omamo as a development conscious leader who was always in the forefront of several initiatives.

The MCA urged the police to ensure that those behind her murder were brought to book to face justice.
