'My father was killed in my presence,' Gospel artiste narrates leaving viewers in tears

Burundian gospel artiste Bonfils Nikiza on Sunday left viewers of Rauka show in tears after narrating his sad life experience.

Nikiza, who runs a foundation, which helps orphans and widows and street children narrated to Kambua and her co-host how his family was killed in the inter-community war back in Burundi.

I came to Kenya from Burundi because there was a vicious war at the time. After high school, I was frustrated with losses. My family members had perished in the war, struggles were so many and I decided to leave,' he narrated.

Nikiza, who speaks eight languages explained that he decided to help the needy because he grew up without a family and wanted to share his love with others.

I lost my family when I was really young. My father was killed in my presence. I know the pain of losing loved ones. Growing up without a family, I decided to do something for other children because I know the pain.

I did not know anyone in Kenya. I did not have the money to buy a flight ticket. It was a two-week journey in a lorry and was not easy.

So far, he has done a collabo Tegemeo with Kambua and is one of the most talented artistes around.
