Deputy President William Ruto has told off "politicians and busybodies" following a child neglect case filed in court today, February 2nd, 2017, by a woman citing lack of child support.

She wants the court to compel Ruto to offer child support to the child whose name is withheld since she was a minor.

Through her lawyer Gitobu Imanyara, the woman said Ruto has refused to provide the minor with adequate child support.

“The respondent has failed to provide the minor with adequate and basic necessities such as good health, food, school fees, clothing, shelter and medication,” she said in a suit.

The lawyer said the suit, filed at the Milimani Court, was urgent and the court should give them directions.

DP Ruto is married to Rachael Ruto and they have four children together.
