The medical report on the woman accusing Imenti Central MP Gideon Mwiti of raping her shows that she was definitely beaten up; but the report is ambiguous on the evidence of rape.

A health worker who has seen The Nairobi Women's hospital report says that it indicates that the woman had "soft tissue injuries on the lips, cheeks and abdomen." She had "very small bruises on the upper and lower lips with stains of blood and minimal swelling on the cheeks." There was also "some tenderness on the upper right region of the abdomen."

The report however said there were "no bruises" pale pale; and that the examination did not find evidence of semen.

The health worker said the report concluded only that there was "suspected rape" but there was clear evidence of "physical assault."

The mystery deepens as to what exactly happened between Mwiti and his victim.
