There was a man who raised himself from boyhood to Manhood. And in our tradition that is 'Kwíiga' (to keep oneself). To shoot to success, a man has to be independent.

It all began 15 years ago. One and a half decades ago in Upperhill, in a deserted old colonial home, two brothers decided to open a restaurant knows as VISA PLACE. VISA PLACE blew up! With their concept of good Kenyan food especially Visa's popular Tilapia fish and Nyama Choma, combined with great local, international 80's and 90's music Kenyan's ate and drank their nights away at.

It is this very tradition being carried forward to the new fresher modern Jiweke Tavern . 'Jiweke' means to keep oneself in Swahili, so the memory of the lessons from the father of the two brothers is deeply ingrained within the eatery. They have maintained the welcoming ambience's. However, the new restaurant has an executive sports bar and a luscious garden which is the perfect location to enjoy sundowners and watch the beautiful Nairobi sunset.

Jiweke Tavern is also the ultimate solution for when stuck in Ngong road traffic; just pop in have some of their epic samosas and kill some time as you wait for the roads to clear up.

It is located off Ngong road on Kibera road just behind China Centre.

Kudos to these brothers! This has to be the most inspiring success story ever.

Here are the amazing photos of the gorgeous place:
