At least five people are feared dead after the vehicle they were travelling in got involved in a fatal crash at Msambweni in Kwale County.

Reports indicate that about 44 others sustained injuries in the accident that happened at 2 pm on Friday.

The injured were rushed to Msambweni District Hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.

The bus was carrying 57 people who were on their way to attend an Islamic wedding when the accident occurred.

Confirming the incident, Coast Regional Traffic Commandant Emmanuel Okanda stated that two people died on the spot while three others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
