Kamau said the driver of the bus was overtaking another vehicle on a foggy section of the road tried to slow down to avoid a head on collision but the bus belonging to Crown Bus company was over speeding and rammed into the trailer from behind.

Most of the passengers were heading to Kakamega.

"We are advising drivers that the with the heavy rains currently the roads are slippery and foggy in some areas and they should reduce speed and keep distance from the next vehicle to avoid such accidents", said Kamau.
