The family of the late legendary musician John De Mathew is in mourning.

DeMathew's brother, Evans Mburu, brother has praised him for stepping in and supporting his siblings when they lost their parents.

The person who is however most shocked is De Mathew's wife Caroline Waithira.

Speaking on Citizen TV Caroline says she is yet to overcome the sudden death of her husband.

No one can replace john I am still in shock

Mburu, De Mathews brother, on the other hand, has been left wondering what his family will do without their brother.

Where my family and I are, It is him (DEMathew) who has enabled us to be here. He really supported us after we lost our parents.

President Uhuru Kenyatta was among politicians who sent condolence messages to the family of De Mathew.

'As a nation, we were privileged to have had such a brilliant artiste who played a big role in promoting our African cultural heritage through his music. Indeed, we have lost an icon in the music industry.

DeMathew championed and played a big role in preserving our cultural heritage,” the President said.

May he rest in peace and may God grant his family peace in this trying times.
