A popular journalist who was affected by the mass lay-off at Royal Media Services (RMS) in October 2016 has been called back and given a different assignment by the media house.
Word has it that Patrick Mathangani, who was a news editor at Citizen TV, has been brought back to head News Extra – a segment that was recently introduced station.
The new section which will run from Monday to Friday, premiered today and it will feature a host of bulletins and discussions various emerging issues.
Apparently, the restructuring which led to firing of celebrated journalists like Kirigo Ngarua, Terryanne Chebet, and Abdi Osman, left the organization short staffed.
The editorial department was the most affected as the remaining editors were left with so much on their plates. As such, rehiring Mathangani was very necessary.
