Award-winning gospel singers Daddy Owen and Rufftone are mourning the death of their father Mr Mwatia.

He passed away last Saturday night due to a reported "cardiac arrest" at his rural home in Kakamega county.

Daddy Owen confirmed in a statement that their father was no more and that his funeral arrangements are underway.

"I pray this finds you well, it's with sadness to inform you that We lost our Dad on Saturday night due to a sudden cardiac arrest at our rural home. it is, therefore, my honor to invite you to a thanksgiving service this Thursday 12th Oct at NPC Valley Rd 5-7pm. Keep us in your prayers. Bless."

Mr Mwatia leaves behind a widow and five children; four sons who all are musicians and a daughter.
