Popular Mugithi star Paul Salim aka Salim Junior passed away two weeks, Saturday, Jan 23 after battling a chest infection from November last year.
The late Salim Junior left behind a widow and two lovely daughter and his death came as a shock to many who knew him for his life changing Kikuyu songs.
The Mugithi singer is said to have changed the Kikuyu music scene with his hit-songs and was also popular for being a role model to many of the youth in his home town.
Salim Junior, who was a one man guitar was laid to rest today, February 2, at his father’s farm in Arash, Subukia sub-county, Nakuru county after a funeral service at Subukia shopping centre.
The funeral vehicles which carried his body were customized with his name on the number plate in bold letters as a show of respects for the fallen singer.
He was buried with his guitar which was the only musical instrument he started his career with. Hundreds of mourners attended the funeral to pay their last repsects to the singer.
