MUNGU AILAZE ROHO YAKE PEMA PEPONI! Here Is Achieng' Abura's Last Facebook Post Before She Died

The Kenyan music fraternity is mourning the demise of talented songstress Afro Jazz singer and former Tusker Project Fame Principal Lydia Achieng Abura. The celebrated musician passed away on the evening of October 20 while undergoing treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi.

The mother of one who has been keeping a low profile of late and was working on raising funds to foot her son's bill (Prince - her only child was recently diagnosed with sickle cell anemia and was due to be flown outside the country for treatment). According to sources, Achieng' Abura was worried about her son's health and was admitted at Kenyatta where she was being treated for depression and gastritis; inflammation of the lining of the stomach.

Well, who was one of the most respected, admired women around and a role model to many, put up a post on her Facebook account hinting on her deteriorated health. This post has left her fans shocked with many speculating that Achieng Abura was going through a lot and this was a prediction of her death.

"I have lost over 50 kgs in the last three

Years. Everything is hanging and weak. Walking is a problem with pains all over. Doctor says I must add 30 kgs then lose it as I exercise and firm up. The irony of life. I was not even losing weight intentionally! I allowed life to get the better of me. Learn from my mistakes."

Read the late's message which was posted on October 7, this year. Achieng won a Kora Award in 2004 for Best East African Female, an award she shared with Tsedenia Gebremarkos of Ethiopia. The late was a talented singer and she will be remembered for her great albums; I Believe, Dhahabu Yangu, Spirit Of a Warrior, Way Over Yonder and Maisha. She was also a great fashion enthusiast and she always dressed in African attires.
