A Criminal case in which Imenti Central MP Gideon Mwiti is facing Rape Charges has been suspended pending the hearing and determination after he challenged his prosecution.

Justice Weldon Korir stopped the trial at the magistrates' court which was to proceed on August 19th following an application by the Mp seeking temporary orders barring the victim’s lawyers from tendering evidence or submitting as co-prosecutors in the rape case.

Mwiti is facing rape and intimidation charges where it alleged that on 21 March this year at a club in Westlands, he raped a married woman. The Case will be heard on October 12.
