Mpasho Unplugged: DJ Hypnotiq And DJ Mista Dru Join The Debate On Whether Kenyan Men Should Cook For Their Wives

Should an African man cook for his wife? If you grew up in a traditional family set up, I would like to know if you ever saw your father set foot in the kitchen to cook for your mother and the family. Neither do I!

And yet today's modern Kenyan lass, the Kenyan Millenials if you will want to outdo me in drinking and smoking (a woman who smokes is not wife material by the way) wants to chain me to the cooker so I prepare food for her after a hard day's work?

What sort of self respecting African man does this nonsense? Only men who were raised by single women seem to fall for this nonsense. But the truth of the matter is that this is an issue with the men who refuse to raise their sons.

Socialization.

The same way that only a lion can teach a cub how to roar. Only a man can teach a boy how to be a man. So this is entirely a failure in Kenyan men. But women refuse to acknowledge that they are raising men and instead keep molly coddling their sons so much that they do not know traditional male roles.

We had a conversation -as I had mentioned earlier- about whether or not a man should cook for their wives... Personally, I would never. How can I pay dowry, then take care of you (a man must provide and protect) and all I ask for at the end of the day is for a nice home cooked meal and you tell me that you are tired?

What sort of nonsense deal is this? Life is about give and take! DJ Hypnotiq happened to be around to hear our exchange and he decided to get a word in edgewise. Find out what he and DJ Mista Dru think about cooking for their wives on the next page:
