Mpasho in South Africa: Hot babes, biting hunger and thirst in Capetown

Yesterday I spoke of the but I realize I forgot to mention the shock seeing homeless white people had on my mental faculties.

As hard as that was on my psyche, it was nothing compared to the jolt of energy that hit my head as I walked through the CBD and saw all the attractive women walking either to their places of employ or colleges.

And not to the head on my shoulders either!

So here I was, walking towards my meeting with a noticeably awkward gait -complete with my hands in my pockets when my phone pinged. Dismay washed over me when I realized I had forgotten to switch off my internet connection but perhaps it was going to be my first Tinder match. I was excited. A Tinder match meant I could potentially eat lunch or dinner for free!

And it was a damned scam bot!

I gambled and lost. I decided to spend my food money on bundles -- and 12 hours later, not a single Tinder match. Looks like I shall starve because I refuse to be broken. Surely, one of the many beautiful women shall notice my profile and swipe right on that handsome devil.

I dash to my meeting rather absent-mindedly and then I realize something unique to Capetown. In Nairobi, we walk onto roads even when the traffic lights have turned green because ALL the drivers; matatu and personal vehicles give way. In Capetown, once the light is green, you set foot on the road at your own peril.

After surviving that near-death experience, I got to my meeting with a newfound appreciation for life. Meeting done, work begins, work ends and it's another day done and dusted. So we decide to head out and look for a place to eat that will be cheaper than the hotel we are putting up. But before we head out, I quickly check for notifications on my phone from Tinder. None.

I was deflated. I had to swallow humble pie aswell as an expensive bill all because no one found me irresistible on Tinder. Damn!

By the way, I just realized I hadn't mentioned the weather. The weather in Capetown is on big mindfuck. The sun is out. The sun is bright enough for you to need sunglasses. But the wind is still so cold that when it hits you, you freeze. My mind is constantly swimming as it tries to grasp the weather.
