“Niliishiwa na nguvu baada ya mwanangu kukubali kuwa amefanywa nyuma. Nilipomwambia babake, alipiga nduru kisha kakata simu. Nilibaki nimeduwaa nisijue pa kuanzia lakini nilijipiga moyo konde nikaenda hospitlini kutafta daktari wa kumsaidia mwanangu.”

The traumatised mother told us that she was referred to a gender violence hospital to seek further medical attention for her son. At that time, the rapist had already been arrested but after the family allegedly bribed the police, he was released. Who will save our kids if the police continue accepting bribes?

Deborah continued to narrate the sad story hoping that justice will be done and that the perpetrator who is said to be between 24-26 years will be brought to book. The coastal region especially Kilifi has of late been making headlines because of the high level of homosexuality, and Deborah has called upon Kenyans particularly mothers to very careful and vigilant with their children so that in case they experience any form of abuse, they can easily tell them so that they may get the necessary help.

“Wazazi tusiweke pesa mbele bila kujali maisha ya watoto wetu. Mtu akimtendea mtoto wako kitendo cha kishoga nenda ukamstaki kwa polisi maana lazima haki itendeke. Usikubali kuchukua hongo kutoka kwa aliyemtendea mwanao unyama,” concluded the angry mother.

Below is the video of Deborah narrating the horrible ordeal her son experienced.

Stay tuned for part 2 as we bring you the doctor’s report on sexual and domestic abuse as well as the Kenya police comment on this.
